I can't believe I forgot to announce this earlier!! Well, I sort of did, but it was in a status post that is now long since buried and I forgot to replace my previous Patreon announcement journal entry. Anyways, last year, I undertook a major overhaul of my Patreon page and completely did away with how its tiers were set-up. For those that don't know, I do more than just jewellery, I'm also a freelance digital illustrator/concept artist and a young adult scifi/fantasy author and, for the sake of simplicity, I've combined all three on my Patreon. Originally, I had decided to separate out each of these into their own tiers, plus had a mega-tier that combined all of them and two, lower-level tiers that basically amounted to being a 'tip jar.' Well, I really wasn't happy with how them and they were actually very difficult for me to manage so I scrapped them and started over.

Now, my Patreon consists of just five tiers (plus the option for custom pledges):

- Pearl: $2

- Black Opal: $5

- Alexandrite: $10

- Star Ruby: $25

- Aetherium: $50

It's a 'pledge what you want' system with all tiers/pledges receiving the same content. Patrons now don't have to choose between what they are interested in most or have to choose what was a rather high-ticket tier in order to see everything. Pledging amount is completely up to you as to how much you want, or are able to do, and every pledge, no matter how small, is truly cherished!

All of the resources that I share (texture scans, brushes, tutorials from my jewellery account, etc.) are available for free to patrons of all pledges.

Patrons also get first dibs options on all new jewellery pieces, along with, a 15% discount and access to the patron-only merch on the 'Patron Perks' area of my author website.

Other posts include WIP posts, sketches, various other behind-the-scenes posts, weekly updates, and more! At some point, I would also like to run a contest or two, but that will be for when I've grown my patron and follower community on Patreon.

Not able to commit to a monthly pledge, but would like to help support my art? You can also Buy Me A Coffee with a one-time support donation (just $3 each!).

It's official! My Patreon page has launched! There are 6 subscription tiers to choose from ranging everywhere from $2 - $100 a month:

- Kudos
- Mega-Kudos
- Bookworms
- Artlovers
- Bring on the Bling!
- One Tier to Rule Them All

The Kudos and Mega-Kudos tiers are 'sampler' tiers with limited access to content shared to Bookworms, Artlovers, and Bring on the Bling! These three, are specific to the art forms that I do (jewellery, illustration/concept art, fiction writing) so, if you're only interested in one of these, you don't have to see everything (other than the public posts) from all of them and only get the content that you want. The final tier, is an 'all-access' tier with all the rewards from those three tiers.

Hi everyone! Been a while since I posted anything here so here's what's new with me. I'm still working away with my jewelry (for any interested is seeing my work please visit my website) and presently am pursuing both my Graduate Gemologist and Graduate of Pearls Diplomas from the Gemological Institute of America. However, back in May I started actively pursuing a new interest - writing, and released on Amazon as an indieauthor my first novel Miss Gemquist and the Pearl of Peking .  If you're interested in Regency-era Steampunk adventure novels, I hope you'll check it out! Here's the synopsis:

One note, one pearl, and one family secret.

Miss Loralai Gemquist, the 23-year-old daughter of famed gemologist Jacob Gemquist and granddaughter of Lord Bramwell Gemquist, The Baron of Aethleton, thought that her life couldn’t get more difficult than surviving the London Season and the schemes of her match-making aunts. But when she discovers an anonymous note, her life will never again be the same. Thrust into a world of shadows, secrets, and intrigue, she’ll be forced to use all her wits, intellect, and knowledge of gemstones as she tries to prevent a war when a priceless, Chinese pearl is stolen. Along the way, she’ll meet some unexpected allies and make some dangerous enemies as she learns who she can trust, but just one false step and it will be more than her life on the line.

Miss Gemquist and the Pearl of Peking is the first book in a five book series (The Gemquist Chronicles) and began as a stress-relief project because of an on-going difficult situation at my work.  Currently, I am employed at a part-time day-job. I have been there for about 6.5 years now and it is very clearly time to move on. Last year, I was diagnosed with significant hip dysplasia in both of my hips along with other complications related or caused by this birth defect. As a result, I'm having some physical difficulties at my work. The worst part though is that I have been receiving pressure from those in management to seek another job and some have been going out of their way to make things even more difficult for me so as to force the issue. Thus, in hopes of actually being able to leave that job, I started this writing project in conjunction with my other interests and pursuits. The second book is already to almost 12,000 words and continues to grow. At present, I'm hoping to be able to release it early or mid 2018. I'm also working on creating a website, newsletter, and possible redesign of the book cover for book one.

If this series sounds of interest to you or you would simply like to support my efforts in what I'm calling 'Project Job Exodus,' I hope you'll give my book a try! It is available on Amazon in both paperback and ebook formats. The paperback is just $16.95 and the ebook is $2.99. Or, if you have Kindle Unlimited, you can read it for free! If you do, please make sure not to use 'Page Flip' on your device. Authors whose books are available through Kindle Unlimited are paid by Amazon for each page that is read and, for some reason, 'Page Flip' mode does not record these page turns. This means that the authors are not paid for those page turns. Not quite sure about the book? The first five chapters can be found on Wattpad as a free sample.

Please also consider following me on Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads!
